Breeding on Dec. 11th, 2009 Since the so called "hanging" can take up to 45 min. you better make  sure that everybody feels comfortable :-) 6 weeks later Ayla proudly presents her little belly :-)

Beautiful mom to be (Ayla almost 3 years old) is expecting her 2nd litter  in 2 weeks. Today Ayla moved in her you “apartment” :-)

Ayla is enjoying a little snack.....She loves joghurt, which gives her and  the babies an extra portion of calcium. ;-)! She enjoys it when we pat her belly and we are totally enchanted, when we rest our hands on her belly and can feel the little babies moving around. :-)

The night before the day of birth. Dec. 11th...7.00 PM......Ayla is dictating Meinolf an email to announce the upcoming birth of her babies...

....and a few minutes later at 7.09 PM the first baby “yellow girl” is born  on our couch :-) 45 minutes later at 7.52 PM "Blue Boy" is born.

All puppies have to be weight after her birth to have control whether they gain enough every day. The third baby “green girl” comes into the world at 8.26 PM.

It doesn’t take long and at 9.43 PM “red girl” arrives. Mommy is cleaning the new born baby until it sparkles like a little diamond :-)

Since the little babies can’t go to the bathroom themselves, mommy has to lick them that they can pee and poop. Such a happy mommy!

It is most important that the new born babies start drinking the precious mother milk right away. Shiny little diamond,

Mommy is inspecting her babies and takes a longer break... At 1.28 AM Ayla is delivering “brown boy”.

Cleaning procedure. A little more than an hour later “Pink girl” is born at 2.47 AM

So far Ayla gave birth to 6 babies and did show no signs that she would deliver another baby ....... In the morning at 6.31 AM lucky no. 7 (Orange boy) is arriving ;-)

Proud mommy Ayla and her 7 babies’ 1st day The whelping box gets a fresh bedding, so the babies have to stay in the basket for a while. Ayla always has an eye on them.

Patiently he is waiting in some distance. But today he is allowed to check out the babies more closely. :-)

10th day of the little family December 21st, 2009

December 24th (that’s when we still celebrate Christmas, according to our German tradition ;-)  ) MERRY CHRISTMAS

16th day - sleeping and ...... ......drinking...that's what they do the entire day.

But now they also start playing with each other and us :-) The little fluff balls

Ayla tries to get rid of a “Sammy” who does not belong to the pack. (Visitors brought a “stuffed Sammy”, but Ayla thought 7 babies are  already enough ;-) ) 18 days old

In the meanwhile they wheight around 2 kg Today we support the project: "Bring the kids to work".

Ayla got the left overs of a joghurt and gave the container to her babies for some entertainment. :-)
