Hi there.
Just got back from a wonderful trip. It was so nice to see you all. Thank you for making the trip.....
...... We had a ball, and Chance absolutely loves the water as you can see. He also finds the beaches great for digging.
Today, it was so hot that we went down to the local dog beach, and not only does he fetch, he SWIMS and fetches. An absolute fanatic about it. I didn't have the camera with me, but I will sent you proof next time. I think I have to get him a pool for the backyard. Hope I can keep him out of my fish pond.
Love, George and Tracy

Tracy and I have had Chance for 3 months now,and every day,he excedes our expectations. He has completed his first 8 weeks of obedience and passed with flying colours. He is a beautiful boy with an amazing temperment which I attribute not only to our raising of him, but also to the start he had with Sabine and Roughdiamond. Her kennel is everything we looked for and we searched all of Canada to find the perfect breeder and Samoyed. We could not be happier with our choice, and feel honored to have been chosen to have one of Magnum's and Ayla's pups. Thank you to Sabine and Roughdiamond.

Hi Sabine. Chance has now graduated kindergarten, and will begin elementary school. Yeh!
I am very proud of the little guy.He (of course) showed up all the Shepherds in his class. His sit stay, and down stays are almost perfect, and he comes like a bullet.Best of all,he really loves learning,so we are going to the next level.
Ruth (the trainer) wouldn't even let me thing about not moving up. She said we had done remarkably well. I'm sure it helps being with him all and every day,as well as him being eager to learn.
It seems not many people take Samoyeds to obedience.
We are going to the island in May from the 12th (staying in Ft Langley ) for about 3 weeks. Do you want to see him?
We could arrange something?
George and Tracy.
( love the site by the way)

..............Chance ( my favorite dog in the whole world) is doing great. Excelling at dog training, and can you believe it, loves to retrieve. Only does it for 4 or 5 times, but retrieves to my hand, till he finds something more interesting to do.
I will send more pics, and video of the retrieve.
Love. George and Tracy.

Hi Sabine.
Today was Chance's first day in kindergarten. He especially likes recess. Actually, the trainer was very pleased with him, and says he is a very smart dog and picks things up very quickly. Her name is Ruth Yeulet, and she has been training German Sheppards for years for drug sniffing, tracking and obedience. She also trains for agility, and herding. Her Kennel is Shannon Lake Kennels, and I have known her for about 30 years. She also said that Chance had a beautiful gait and confirmation?is that the right word? She was very taken with him, and after the 8 weeks of training she would love to see him come back for tracking. So today ,we learned come, sit, down, up, and started on heel. She taught me a couple of tricks, and "come" is a piece of cake now. He is working on retrieve, but you know Sams. Throw something away more than once, and you can just get it yourself. Ruth thinks he is a very smart good looking boy who will enjoy challenges, and learn quickly. Very eager. So, I have my work cut out for me for the next 2 months.

Good Morning Sabine.
Update on the little man. Chance is now taller and heavier than Brodie. They are still playing and chasing, and we think Brodie is still the boss by letting Chance know when he has gone too far.We have been getting out for two walks a day, besides all the yard play time. The last couple of days I have gone out alone with Chance so Brodie isn't an interference, and have had Chance off lead to make sure he watched me and follows.I hid behind a tree the first time, and when he figured out I was gone ,had such a worried look on his little face.He looked both ways to figure out which way I had gone on the path, and picked correctly, and was very happy to find me.Since then,he looks back all the time if he is ahead, and doesn't let me get far enough ahead of him to hide again. When he sees people on the path, he of course wants to meet them, but will stop his run when I call his name and whistle, and return.( treats are wonderful for training). He is also very good with "no",and will stop doing what he was doing.Only took him once to learn about horse poop, and now won't go near it when I say no,even though I know he is curious. I always put him back on lead when people are walking with dogs, just in case, and he always comes to have the leash put on with no fuss. I think we have the peeing down, and he has had only one mess of pooh, when he had a bit of the runs, and I thought he was finished outside.
All in all we are very proud of the little guy,and he seems to like us a lot.
